Shiny new things...
Hello people who live on my email list!
I had written a post last week about a prolonged melt-down that I’ve been having. However, the world feels so dark and heavy right now, that it seems incredibly self-indulgent to be moaning about toxic positivity (the root cause of my meltdown, amongst other things). So, I’ve scheduled that post for next month. As the title suggests, it’s very light and breezy, a laugh a minutes. I do write uplifting fiction you know.
Instead, I thought I’d keep this one brief as I have two things to share. Then we can all go back to despairing about the state of the world and our inability to change it (possibly I’m a nihilist now).
Manuscript Assessment
Anyway, the first thing is to say that I’m happy to be offering some editing services now. In reality, this is not a new thing at all, I’ve been doing it for a while. I just haven’t done any promotion of it. Absolutely zero. I would make a terrible business person. I’ve been relying on word of mouth, but I really enjoy it. So if you’re thinking of getting into writing, or you have a manuscript you’d like someone to look over, please check out my services below. I think I’m very cheap (not in *that* way) because it really enrages me how prohibitive these things can be for people.
I also offer three free submission package look overs a month. No questions asked. Because we need more people from a range of backgrounds in publishing (I’m stepping away from my soapbox).
NetGalley
Secondly, I’m excited (and vaguely terrified) to announce that my second novel, The Philosophy of Love) is now available on NetGalley. I have a shiny new asset for this, which you’ll find below.
Isn’t she lovely?! For anyone who doesn’t know what NetGalley is, it’s basically a site where reviewers get early access to books with the purposes of reviewing them. Let’s let that sink in, they read them with the express purpose of reviewing. NetGalley strikes fear into many an author hearts (or at least all of the mildly unhinged ones, like me). But actually, last time I had lots of lovely reviews on there so this time…I’m still terrified.
And so, for any of you who have a NetGalley account, you can find the link to it here:
NetGalley The Philosophy of Love
It’s also still available to pre-order (it’s obligatory that I include this in every newsletter. It’s the actual law. Just not a law that anyone has ever heard of).
Thanks for reading!
